Abstrak

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan dalam kemampuan bahasa Inggris dasar di kalangan siswa kelas X TKR 1 di SMK Negeri 8 Palembang selama program Pengenalan Lapangan Sekolah (PLP). Studi menemukan bahwa penguasaan kosakata dan tata bahasa siswa masih rendah, yang mengakibatkan partisipasi aktif di kelas menjadi minim. Melalui tahap observasi, bimbingan mengajar, dan latihan mandiri, metode interaktif seperti diskusi kelompok dan media audio-visual diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan dalam keterampilan membaca dan mendengarkan, meskipun keterampilan menulis dan berbicara masih memerlukan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya strategi pengajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan fasilitas pendukung yang lebih baik untuk mencapai hasil belajar optimal di sekolah menengah kejuruan.
